Space Sharks - on track for Badab APC hobby challenge cut-off date

Well I managed to get quite a bit more done today. All the basecoats are fully done, and I've gone ahead and added the decals. I have to touch up one of the side teeth and then touch up all the grey areas before doing some edge highlighting and weathering. Definitely pleased with the way it's turning out. :)

Here's a quick half dozen shots in various configurations.

Rhino config

Razorback config

Plus a close up of gunner and kill markings on turret

Lol, If you had the plasma cannon razor back, that kill counter could cover the whole thing, those things are nasty.

Great job though, hopefully it'll be gobboling up (insert army here)s. Rammings gonna be so satisfying with that thing NOM! NOM! NOM!
(and yes I am high on... er... roses?)

Aww, that looks great. The mouth just looks awesome. If you can get a couple good pictures of it i think its a shoe in for the bolls minidex. Also which brand of decal paper do you use and how do you prepare it, because the Gw brand turns out quite shiny before matte vanishing, even with the micro products.

Thanks Thomas, I bought some Experts-Choice decal paper from Hornet Hobbies. I found the white backing (Novamarines) too think, but the clear one is really nice. I basically just print it out and give it a good spray with purity seal (the GW sealant) and let it dry overnight - nothing crazy.

Looking really good, it's coming together nicely. I'm doing final painting today and will get a final update posted tonight.
Good Luck!

I absolutely love the teeth motif, i think it looks great. If you can get some good pictures then you're a shoe in for BOLS. Although you might want to put a few thin coats of white on the teeth as they are looking a bit patchy and rough.

Great conversion on the turret! I love the way it looks so low tech.

Very nice paintjob! The teeth pattern is so straight and nice looking...how'd you keep your hand so steady?

Thanks man, it fits with the way I see my sharks as airforce/army/navy soldiers - just get 'er done! My bit of fluff for entering the BoLS contest will be the army commander had the techmarines create some turrets from land raiders that had been damaged/destroyed.

As for keeping your hands steady, I usually lean both my hands on my desk, and then I use my pinky from my paintbrush hand to lean on the model.
